This presentation explores the versatile capabilities of the Karate framework and its potential beyond API testing. We will start with a brief overview of Karate and its primary use cases to illustrate why it is beneficial to explore its functionalities.
We will look at Karate’s capabilities in UI testing, mocking, and performance testing as well, and use them together for more sophisticated test scenarios.
The aim of this session is to provide a comprehensive understanding of Karate’s robust features and encourage you to utilize Karate to its full potential.

He currently works as a Test Automation Engineer at trivago N.V. in Düsseldorf, Germany, focusing on backend and frontend test technologies and pipelines. He authored the book “Writing API Tests With Karate” and maintains test-related open source projects. Benjamin is a regular conference speaker and writes blog posts about testing, automation, and software craftsmanship at softwaretester.blog.
